Privacy Policy

How Cryptbox handles uploads and visitor activity.

1. Information we collect

We log site visits, upload attempts, successful uploads, download requests and abuse reports. Records may include UTC timestamps, a randomly generated browser visitor ID stored in a cookie, full public IP addresses for newly recorded events, truncated IP network information for older events, file names and file sizes.

2. Why we collect it

We use this information to operate the file-hosting service, monitor usage, troubleshoot problems, detect abuse and investigate security incidents.

3. Files and sharing

Files uploaded to Cryptbox may be accessible to anyone who has their link. Do not upload personal, confidential or third-party information you are not authorized to share.

4. Security and malware scanning

We use HTTPS, administrative access controls and automated malware checks where configured. No scan or security control can guarantee that a file is safe. Treat downloaded files with caution.

5. Visitor IDs and IP addresses

Browser visitor IDs are not verified identities. A public IP address may belong to a shared network, mobile carrier or VPN and does not establish someone's real-world identity.

6. Retention and deletion

Activity logs are currently retained until manually deleted by the operator. Uploaded files may expire or be removed according to the file's configured expiration settings. We intend to review and limit log retention as the service develops.

7. Requests and contact

For removal or privacy requests, use the site's published contact or abuse-reporting channel. Site operator: Add a verified privacy contact address here before publishing.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the service and its data practices change. Significant changes should be reflected on this page.
